I found the workshop very informative. I thought it was great to see how the goals were established and really stepping back from those giant goals to see what the first step is (eg. staying living in house - need to cook a meal weekly). I think its a great way to review what we can do and consider the funding limitations on goals. They often take a lot of time to cover due to many facets involved.
The inclusion of real-life examples and step-by-step strategies made the workshop highly valuable as a new grad. This workshop is a must-attend for OTs looking to improve their skills in NDIS service delivery.
About the Presenters:Â Â
This workshop will be delivered by Occupational Therapists Belinda Renison and Nadine Holgate who each have over twenty years of experience in supporting people with neurological conditions in community settings.
Both Belinda and Nadine are passionate about supporting NDIS participants to build their capacity to participate in meaningful activities and life roles in the community through capacity building interventions.
Belinda is an Occupational Therapist and Neuropsychologist who strongly believes building peoples’ capacity in meaningful activities, life roles and self-regulation is essential to optimising their quality of life and reducing behaviours of concern. Belinda loves supporting other Occupational Therapists to increase their confidence and skills in partnering with participants and their support networks to build their capacity.
Nadine Holgate is an Occupational Therapist who is passionate about building capacity for occupational therapists in both metro and rural locations to confidently work with NDIS participants in a collaborative, individualised way to achieve meaningful outcomes. Nadine has an interest in supporting families and completed her Masters of Clinical Family Therapy in 2009.
